The Problem

The revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) requires all 27 EU member states to establish national Building Renovation Passport (BRP) schemes by May 29, 2026 — barely two months from now. These BRPs are stepwise, digital renovation roadmaps that guide building owners toward zero-emission performance over 15-20 years.

The problem: there is almost no commercial software to create, manage, or track these passports. The market is dominated by EU-funded research prototypes (iBRoad, OneClickRENO, RETIME) and a handful of government pilots (Flanders' Woningpas). Energy auditors who will be tasked with creating these passports have no scalable tooling. Property managers with portfolios of hundreds of buildings face a compliance nightmare without digital infrastructure.

Buildings account for 40% of EU energy consumption and 36% of greenhouse gas emissions. The renovation rate is stuck at ~1%/year when it needs to be 3%+. This is a policy-mandated, multi-trillion-euro transition with virtually no digital tooling for the SMB segment.
