MóvelSegunda — Managed Secondhand Furniture Marketplace with Delivery for Portugal

Buying or selling secondhand furniture in Portugal is a terrible experience. OLX is the default — but it's a classifieds site with no quality guarantee, no delivery logistics, and rampant no-shows. Facebook Marketplace is worse: scams, ghost sellers, no buyer protection. And the fundamental blocker?

The Problem

Buying or selling secondhand furniture in Portugal is a terrible experience. OLX is the default — but it's a classifieds site with no quality guarantee, no delivery logistics, and rampant no-shows. Facebook Marketplace is worse: scams, ghost sellers, no buyer protection. And the fundamental blocker? Nobody has a van.

A family upgrading their living room has a perfectly good sofa to sell. But coordinating pickup, finding a buyer with transport, dealing with flakes — it's easier to just dump it. On the buyer side, a student moving to Lisboa sees a great desk on OLX for €60 but has no way to transport it. Result: perfectly good furniture goes to landfill while buyers pay full price for new IKEA.

In the US, AptDeco ($20M+ funding) solved this with "white glove pickup & delivery" — they handle everything. In Germany, Cocoli ($3M raised in 2023) does the same with quality verification and managed logistics. In France, Selency curates design furniture with delivery. In Portugal? Nothing.
